So Napoleonely

Another man who conquered Europe after failing at his artistic endeavours.

Napoleon Bonaparte is well known for being a military genius and for his creation and expansion of the French Empire to much of Europe. Much like the only other man in Europe to rule such a broad area in the Modern Age, he was also a budding, unsuccessful artist.[1]

Instead of the brush, however, Napoleon favoured the pen. Sadly, he never published his smutty novella full of longing, passion and unfulfilled love: Clisson et Eugénie.[2] However, copies of his work have been reassembled posthumously by historians.[3]

When researching this, I stumbled upon this Atlantic article from 1906 showering Napoleon with praise for being a well-read, multifaceted genius. Nowhere did it mention his foray into fan-fiction.
